Ballots Going Out to Military and Overseas Voters

 

Indian River County, FL – The first group of mail ballots for the August 23 Primary Election are on their way. Ballots for UOCAVA voters were sent on July 8. UOCAVA voters are uniformed and overseas citizens who are residing outside of the United States.

State law requires absent military and overseas ballots to be sent 45 days prior to an election. UOCAVA voters may request their ballot to be emailed, faxed, or delivered by U.S. mail. A total of 687 vote-by-mail ballots were sent to Indian River County residents who are active-duty military, their spouses and dependents currently absent from their place of residence, and U.S. citizens residing outside the United States.

UOCAVA voters must return their voted ballots by fax or through the United States Postal Service. To check the status of your vote-by-mail ballot visit VoteIndianRiver.gov, hover over "I Want To..." and click "Check the Status of My Vote-By-Mail Ballot."
