News Release
Beware of Voter Registration Mailings
Indian River County, FL – The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections has been
notified that two Washington, D.C. groups, The Voter Participation Center (VPC) and
Center for Voter Information (CVI) will be sending residents mailings regarding voter
registration.
The goal of these two groups is to reach unregistered voters. However, the data used is
often outdated and inaccurate, which can lead to confusion regarding eligibility for voting.
These mail-outs often include Florida Voter Registration Applications with information prefilled and are addressed to already registered voters, children under voting age, pets, and
deceased family members.
“We have had multiple complaints from voters receiving previous mailings from these
organizations,” Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan said. “Some of the mailings were sent
to deceased persons, whose family members were extremely upset.”
Please be advised that the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections has neither printed
nor distributed these unofficial mailings and are in no way affiliated with these
organizations. Voters with questions or concerns regarding these mailings are encouraged
to contact the VPC toll free at 877-255-6750 or CVI directly at 866-290-1599.
The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections is the official source for voting and
