ELECTIONS OFFICE ANNOUNCES POLL WATCHER ORIENTATION

 

Indian River County, FL – The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections staff will host a Poll Watcher Orientation on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections Office, located at 4375 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach. Each candidate and political party may have one poll watcher, at any one time, in each polling room or early voting site during the upcoming General Election.

A political committee formed for the specific purpose of expressly advocating the passage or defeat of an issue on the ballot may also have one poll watcher at Election Day polling locations or early voting sites. The upcoming Poll Watcher Orientation will provide information on regulations and guidelines for those persons serving as poll watchers.

The presentation will also include a review of the required paperwork to be submitted to the Supervisor of Elections office for poll watcher eligibility. Each candidate, political party, or political committee requesting to have poll watchers must submit a poll watcher request form to the Supervisor of Elections.

The deadline to submit your application to serve as an early voting poll watcher is noon, October 5, 2020 and the deadline to submit paperwork to serve as an Election Day poll watcher is noon, October 20, 2020. To reserve your spot for the September 30th Poll Watcher Orientation class contact the Elections Office at 772- 226-4700 by Monday, September 28, 2020.
