30,446 Ballots Mailed to Voters for August 18 Primary Election
Indian River County, FL – The Supervisor of Elections began mailing domestic ballots yesterday for the August 18, 2020 Primary Election. The initial mailing includes 30,446 ballots sent to voters with a request on file. Last week, 499 UOCAVA ballots were sent to military and overseas voters.
Additional mail ballot requests will be fulfilled as received. The deadline to request that a ballot be mailed for the Primary Election is 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8. To request or track your mail ballot, visit VoteIndianRiver.com or call 772.226.3440.
Mail ballots are non-forwardable and are sent to the voter’s current mailing address on file, unless specified otherwise. The United States Postal Service encourages voters to mail back their voter ballots early to ensure timely receipt by Election Day.
Voted mail ballots must be placed in the official return envelope provided, and the voter must sign the certificate on the backside of the envelope in order for the ballot to be counted. Voters may drop off their voted ballot at any open Early Voting site or to the 24/7 ballot drop box outside the Supervisor of Elections office. Mail ballots must be received by the Supervisor of Elections office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
