19,000 Mail Ballots Delivered to Post Office for March 17

Presidential Preference Primary Election  

Indian River County, FL – Indian River County residents with a vote-by-mail request on file should be expecting to receive their ballot in the mail in the next few days. The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections office delivered over 19,000 ballots to the post office on Thursday, Feb. 6 for the upcoming March 17, Presidential Preference Primary Election.

The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the March 17 Presidential Preference Primary is 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020. After March 7, voters may pick up a vote-by-mail ballot at the Elections Office, located at 4375 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach. On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned voting precinct. Only registered Democrats and Republicans are eligible to vote in this election.

Voted ballots must be placed in the official return envelope provided, and the voter must sign the certificate on the backside of the envelope in order for the ballot to be counted. Voted ballots may be returned to the Elections Office via U.S. Mail or ballots may be delivered to any early voting site during voting hours and deposited in the secure drop boxes. Ballots received in the secure drop boxes are returned daily to the Elections Office.

All voted mail ballots must be received by the Elections Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Voters may track the status of their mail ballot by visiting VoteIndianRiver.com and selecting the “Track Your Vote-ByMail Ballot” icon on the homepage. Voters will next be required to submit their personal information to gain access to the status of their vote-by-mail ballot.

Statistics on voted ballots received by the Supervisor of Elections will be posted on VoteIndianRiver.com.
